Introduction

Hi friend(s). If youre reading this, you found my website! I have had many, many iterations of a personal website (and this is likely the first youve ever seen) BUT this one, hopefully proven by the fact I am actually sharing it - is here to stay. It is powered by HUGO, hosted on GitHub pages with a custom domain. No AI involved here.

What to expect

Here you will find my haiku poetry, komorebi photography, and blog posts about general musings, thoughts, and experiences. Ill define komorebi below, incase youre wondering what that is. This can be about zen practice, games, or tech I enjoy. There will be some haibun, and prose as well but I dont want to promise too much yet. I find my main problems with websites is biting off so much more than I can chew. So for now: haiku / komorebi / blog.

Komorebi is a Japanese word that means sunlight filtering through the leaves of trees, capturing the beauty of dappled light and the feelings it evokes. I have mostly decided on this form of photography because of the film Perfect Days.

Why

I am no longer an active part of mainline social media. I have deleted my profiles on facebook, instagram, reddit, tiktok, etc. Anything with a feed, mainly, I tend to stay away from. Its just too addicting and disruptive, and my brain has a hard time resisting its pull. Ive even taken the browser off my phone. If I need to look something up Ill write it down on paper or in my notes app for a future reference once I am back at my computer.

You will find links to my letterboxd and goodreads here. I mention it because it is technically social media. I just cannot bring myself to manually track every piece of media I consume. Too much work. If you want to keep up with all that I will have those links readily available at the bottom of the page.

I do hope the haiku and photography you find here will bring a sort of peace to you, or a quiet moment.
